Located about three miles north of Wellington, CO, Modeleers Field has been the club’s primary flying site for over ten years. Open fields surrounding the runway accommodate models of all sizes and also provide excellent thermals for gliders. An onsite weather station is available for checking conditions before heading out for a day of flying. The field features two taxiways, shade shelter, seven pilot stations, and an overall runway size of 400' x 35'.

 

The runway consists of two materials. An asphalt portion measuring 250' x 35' makes up the center of the landing surface. This is augmented by Contech fabric extensions placed on each end of the asphalt portion. Contech fabric is an industrial grade landscaping fabric and is perfectly suitable for landings
